Content Moderator FAQ

What is Content Moderator?

Content Moderator is a suite of tools and APIs that enhance the safety of your platform. Image, text, and video moderation can be configured to support your policy requirements by alerting you to potential issues such as profanity in text, adult and racy images, child exploitation images (via the PhotoDNA Cloud Service), and more.

 How does Content Moderator work?

You use the API to scan your content as it is generated. Content Moderator then processes your content and sends the results along with relevant information either back to your systems or to the built-in review tool. You can use this information to take decisions e.g. take it down, send to human judge, etc.

What does my Content Moderator subscription include?

Your Content Moderator subscription includes access to the Moderator APIs and the review tool. You can decide whether you want to use one or the other, or both, depending on your business needs.

What are the limits/restrictions of the content that can be moderated by using the API?

When using the API, images need to have a minimum of 128 pixels and a maximum file size of 4MB. Text can be at most 1024 characters long.

What happens if the content passed to the text API or the image API exceeds the size limits?

The text API will return an error code that informs that the text is longer than permitted. The image API will also return an error code that informs that the image does not meet the size requirements. How much does Content Moderator cost?
