  1. Improve spell checking of people names

    I have encountered some problems with the spell check API changing people names that are actually spelled correctly. Examples are Paskal & Nicolaas.
    This causes searches downstream in my app (using LUIS) to not work as expected because the changed name cannot be found. I have noticed similar issues with company names and some acronyms.
    Ideally similar functionality that exist in Microsoft Word would be nice. This allows the user to add words to the dictionary for future reference. I realize though that the Bing Spell Checker is based on a different architecture using Machine Learning etc. so this might…

    • Support for other English locales

      The documentation indicates other English locales coming soon. Please make these available. British English (en-GB), Canadian English (en-CA), Australian English (en-AU), New Zealand English (en-NZ), and Indian English (en-IN).

      • Spell Check seems to fail if certain characters are in the text.

        I was wondering why my text was reported as having no errors, when I was deliberately putting errors in.

        After an hour of trial and error, it turns out that sometimes, the API doesn't like having a period and then a line-feed character in the url-encoded text. LF seems to be encoded as %0A.

        Here are the examples that had me isolate the issue:
        Text=teh%0Atxet
        Reports 2 errors (teh and txet)

        Text=teh.%0Atxet
        Reports 0 errors.

        I don't really need the %0A in my strings so I can just strip them out. Maybe other URLENCODING libraries handle the LF character differently.

        • Grammatical check and or proactive sentence restructuring.

          For example, the Spell check API in it's current format still misses that a word at the start of the sentence should be capitalised, and if a word is not used in sentence where it should be (yes I missed the "a" before the word "sentence" here), I would like for that structure to be recognized and fixed within the context of the entire sentence.

          • The spell check API doesn't have an option to support multi word correction

            The spell check API doesn't have an option to support multiple word correction. For eg. 'air conditiner' returns 'conditioner' and not 'air conditioner'. A parameter setting in the url https://bingapis.azure-api.net/api/v5/spellcheck would help.
