Allow bulk upload and bulk download in the Video Indexer web application
It would be fantastic to be able to bulk upload and then bulk download selected video clips in the web portal.
I am looking at using Video Indexer as a video library for my entire video library (3tb) and without this functionality it would take forever!
Bulk uploading/downloading can be achieved by integrating with the Video Indexer LogicApps: https://azure.microsoft.com/en-us/blog/logic-apps-flow-connectors-will-make-automating-video-indexer-simpler-than-ever/

We'd just like to be able to drop multiple files in the VI upload panel. Thanks. (see attachment)

for the life of me, I don't understand why this is not allowed
allow uploading of multiple videos
Thanks for getting back to me.
To give you a little context, I work in the Marketing and Communications team of a large corporation. We have an issue managing our video assets, which are mainly raw (unedited) video files and some final edited videos. Our library is currently about 3tb and is stored in random folders on external multiple hard drives. We have no way to search this content.
We work with external video agencies that shoot content for us and then edit a video together. After the project is complete they post (in the mail) a hard drive with all the raw video and the final edit to us.
We have been looking for a video library cloud solution where we could keep all our content permanently.
Ideally a cameraman (or us) would upload raw video files to Video Indexer – in the back end these files would live on our Azure Cloud. We would then use the Video Indexer portal to index, search and watch these raw video files, so that we can brief an agency on how to edit the video together. From there the agency would need to bulk download the content they need for the video edit.
We would leave all the raw video files in Video Indexer so that we can leverage this raw content in other videos in the future. Leaving them there, will allow us to search for them.
It would be great to be able to arrange the content into a folder structure in the Video Indexer portal and also be able to batch add metadata to clips. It would also be great to be able to host audio files there also as most raw video these days capture.
We have been searching for a solution for some time and haven’t found anything that comes close to Video Indexer.
I think a few tweaks to the portal would make it a solution that would be invaluable in most large corporate companies.
Happy to discuss further,
For Bulk uploading, would you want to point to a local folder, or a storage account or container in Azure Storage? What bulk ingest locations would you like to see?
