I just started using video indexer -- it's a good name that reflets accurately what the system does, providing labels and clues to the content. However I severely opose using the noun "insight" to name such clues, since insight is capacity, and a very human one. Showing a "list of insights" in the GUI is very confusing in English, and much, much more in the Portuguese version. The fact that the translator could not find a good translation is a good clue that the concept was ill-labeled. Please use all English dictionaries available and choose a better label -- "insight" is surely a very bad one.
Also, when I click in "edit" I enter a mode in which I can NOT edit the transcription, which is mindtwisted. To edit each subtitle/transcript, I must exit edit mode (!) , choose "timeline" (!!) and click on a pencil (which should indicate annotation, not editing). Very confusing.

For editing transcription you can click on “Edit”, then go to the Timeline, where you see the full transcription, and edit what you need.
You do not need to exit the Edit mode and choose it again after you moved to the Timeline.
I couldn't figure out the pricing/ subscription packages. There should be clarity on different Packages.4 votes

Note that when you are indexing, additional Azure charges may be incurred based on your settings such as encoding, storage, content protection, and network/egress.
We are currently serving pre-authenticated URLs from SharePoint to the Upload Endpoint. Including the access token, a few other parameters and the file name, these often exceed the 2048 character limit of the videoUrl parameter.
It would be great if you could either increase the length limit, or (even better) allow the videoUrl to be part of the post request content, so that we can continue indexing files directly from SharePoint.1 vote

The request URL length was updated and now it is limited to 6144 characters, and the query string URL length is limited to 4096 characters .
When using Video Indexer i noticed that, even if a language is defined, the topics come in English only. Would be really wonderful if the topics were also in the specified language.1 vote

Video Indexer API(V2) enable us to get video processing status using such as List Videos API, and what status does it show? Because API result doesn't seem to associate to each Azure Media Service jobs which are shown in Azure Portal (or other tools).
We wish if we could get detail jobs and those status as well as Media Service via Video Indexer APIs2 votes
Current Video Indexer API(V2) requires to get account access token at first for all API operations, and it doesn't associated to anyone (or any account) when using operations APIs.
We would like to identify which user (or app) via API upload video, and wish to feature to get individual user access token and use operation APIs with it.2 votes

Too low accuarcy that Video Indexer can't detect its language with auto-detect mode like this:

Video Edit page doesn't show all subtitles and ocrs. As screenshot shows, video info tells 4 ocr exists, but it shows only 3 (because of area height)5 votes
The steps to embed private videos appears outdated. Got a "not authorized" error even though the access token is valid.

When a user is invited, username is sometimes changed to "dummy first name dummy last name". It should be the same as a name on AAD.5 votes

Using the API we submitted a job and while it was being indexed we deleted the job via the API. We ended up with receiving a mail that the job failed because of invalid video format. However the job is now still listed and it cannot be deleted via the API. The failed job is still displayed in the Webgui and it can also not be deleted there.
Please provide a way to delete such a failed job.1 vote

What the account ID in Video Indexer v2. When i go to the website https://api-portal.videoindexer.ai/ and open page with profile i don`t see accout id. Email, First/Last name, my subbscriptions - yes and anything1 vote

1. Click on the user thumbnail in the top right corner of the portal.
2. Go to Settings → Account tab
3. Copy the Account ID.

How long is breakdown data from REST API retained in Video Indexer service and it is there a cost to store this data?
What about thumbnail images generated (available from thumbnailUrl)? How long are they stored/available and are there any cost to have them accessible for long term periods?
PS: I understand that Face API images are available only for 24h after the process generation1 vote

- Data is retained until you delete it (via the website or API)
For Accounts connected to Azure:
- Charges apply to your Azure subscription
- Data is stored in your Azure subscription until you delete it
