  1. Hints for key phrases to improve extraction on small texts

As mentioned in the guides, Key phrase extraction works best when you give it bigger chunks of text to work on. This means that the same text results in different sets of key phrases when it is part of a larger dataset and when it is submitted as a single record.

It would be helpful, if we have the option of also including a set of key phrases (or as mentioned in other idea submissions - custom keywords or vocabulary) so that the results are better and consistent even when the API is dealing with small chunks of text.

  2. Make "language" parameter optional for Sentiment Analysis

Make "language" parameter optional or add another option as "auto" and add detected language to the response. So I won't need to make two seperate API calls one for detecting the language than for sentiment analysis.

  3. Linking the Wikipedia ID to the entities category

The response includes both entities (e.g. Person, Quantity, email and etc.) and Wikipedia ID, but it is only either of them. For example, 'Donald Trump' as input will result in Wikipedia ID 'https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Donald_Trump'; as output, WITHOUT the entity 'person' which is supported entitiy in the API. Thus, if there any detected Wikipedia ID, could you please add entities type on the response as well? Thank you.

  4. Truncated input to first 100 tokens during analysis

I got an error message from Text Analytics Sentiment
"Truncated input to first 100 tokens during analysis".

    How fix it?

  6. Poor sentiment score for positive statement

“It was great and he did help me.”
Cognitive gives 18% which to me looks incorrect.

  7. Add synonym features to text analysis

Add synonym functionality to improve usefulness of key phrase extraction. When trying to extract key themes from large amounts of text supplied from different authors (e.g. customer feedback), often they will use different words to describe the same theme. Right now it's hard to group words without understanding the relationship with synonyms.

  9. add our own words

Requirement: Add our own words for key phrase identification.

Background: I want to use text analytics for identification of key phrases from sentence entered by user for search.
In order to provide more relevant search result I need to extract key phrases and pass it to our search services.

Dilemma: My all users are from Engineering background and tries to search Engineering equipments or some tools/techniques either using exact keywords or short forms.

I tried to use Text Analytics Demo for getting real-time results as expected, but no luck.
Its failing to achieve such scenarios.

    Is there any provision where…

  10. Reporting a major bug in Azure cognitive-services/text-analytics

I was using the text analysis service API by Azure & found many major flaws : (The API is not mature enough to handle simple real life sentences correctly).
    https://azure.microsoft.com/en-us/services/cognitive-services/text-analytics/?v=18.05
Below are few sample sentences which I used & the result was absolutely wrong.

    1. I have many ways to not give you the expected grades
    2. There are many ways to not give you the desired grade
    3. How could you not understand what I said
    4. We have attempted to launch your course in a new window, but a popup blocker is preventing from opening it -> this…

  13. I would like to see a better semantic understanding of Dutch language constructs

I pushed this phrase to the api:

"Aangezien ik niet meer werk ben ik op zoek naar mensen in mijn omgeving om doordeweeks dingen mee te ondernemen, nieuwe input te ervaren. "

English: Since I am no longer working, I am looking for people in my area to do stuff with, to experience new input.

    The returned key phrases include:
    - "meer werk"

This is wrong, because the wordt 'niet' clearly indicates that the subject has stopped working, while the API suggests 'more work'

I'm trying to map the meaning of text to a domain ontology I created, in which…

  14. What is the definition of transaction in Text Analytics API

After several calls to Text Analytics API, I noticed that the amount of transactions > the amount of calls. So how is transaction defined?

  15. Intermittently unavailable

For the past two months, when I have tried to call the APIs, I have not been able to access the resource. When I check the resource health in Azure, it's unavailable. This happened with the text analytics service in both of our Azure accounts. Last month this seems to have resolved on it's own and we never heard back from Azure about our support request. I tend to go in to run a bunch of transactions in the final days before our monthly allotment resets, and this really throws a wrench in that!

  16. incorrect language detection results

String "Congrats !! Congrats !!" is detected as Tagalog instead of English.

  17. Classify the type of entities (people, location, business, dates)

I enjoyed testing the text analytics API, however I noticed that while the service detects entities, it doesn't appear to classify them. For example, I would expect the service to identify a person from a business or street name. Similarly, can it detect an address such as 123 Elm Street, City, State, Zip. I anticipate that this would be a valuable add-on.

  18. Add Linguistic Analysis features (part of speech tagging, tokenizing, etc)

Add features to Text Analytics to identify the concepts and actions in your text with part-of-speech tagging, and find phrases and concepts using natural language parsers and tokenizers.

  19. Add Wikidata Entity Linking References

The entity linking feature should include or at least allow the option of Wikidata references. Wikidata will allow for much more programmable context vs Wikipedia.

So for example, if the entity "Seattle" was found, we should have a reference to this link from wikidata. "https://www.wikidata.org/wiki/Q5083" which has a ton of contextual data for programmers to access. Such as this is a city, in the state of WA as well as who the mayor is, etc, etc...
